All you can eat pancakes! Need I say more? Well, we’ll have things like hazelnut spead, chocolate (white, milk and dark), bananas, apples and pears, lemon and sugar, jam, peanut butter and, for those who can’t live on sugar alone, cheese and spinach. We will also have hot chocolate that you can customise with cocoa, squirty cream, squirty chocolate sauce and marshmallows. We’ll have games running during the evening, a quiz and fair trade will show a short video.

Join us for something sweet and catch up with your ChocSoc friends!

Stop by this Sunday for some Christmas cheer, food, drink, and games! I’m planning brownies and some other baking, and of course mulled wine and mince pies. And of course chocolate!

Join us at the Christmas market! Meet us at the Hannover bar (the outdoor bar next to the tall wooden tower) at 5:30. We’ll have a drink there (hot chocolate, mulled wine etc.) and then wander around and eat things! Crepes, waffles, baked goods, chocolates and more!

We have loads of fun planned for Friday night! So much fun that I’ll break it down into 3 parts

1. From 5-6pm hot chocolate and games. We’ll have about 4 kinds of hot chocolate for you to try, with whipped cream and other toppings. We’ll have jenga, twister and maybe other games to help you work up an appetite. Plus sweets of course since it’s ChocSoc

2. From about 6-7pm vegetarian pasta with pesto sauce and garlic bread  – and more hot chocolate if you haven’t had enough!

3. Then you’re all invited to go on to the White Harte on park row where it’s 2 cocktails for £5. They’re also doing mulled cider for £2.99 with a mug you can keep and £1.49 for refills, and snowball cocktails for £1.95 (I think that’s advocaat and lemonade).

So how much for all this? Part 1 is free and part 2 is just £1 for members and £2 for non-members. For part 3 you’re on your own!

We’ve booked the Chaplaincy on Woodland road after hours as they have a nice big kitchen and lounge. It’s at 1 Woodland Rd, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1AU.

The massage society is raising money for children in need and you can help by getting a lovely massage and buying some sweets! How good is that?? You can also help by making something tasty for them to sell: biscuits, cake, brownies,  fudge … think of the possibilities! Let us know in advance and you can claim up to £4 in expenses (bring your receipts).

As a thank-you for baking you can have a FREE massage! Or if you don’t want the massage or can’t attend you can get a voucher for a massage, which can be cashed in either there or at any massage society meeting (term time Mondays at 7 in the union — check their website).

There are loads of massages to choose from. The most popular is a back massage with oil, but they can do head, face, arms, hands, legs, feet all with or without oil, and with or without clothes. (They’ll have screens and towels to keep you decent.) Some of the massagers who were in the society last year will have done shiatsu, Indian head massage, Thai massage and more.

If you’ve done any kind of exercise this is a great way to give your sore muscles a treat! Also great for hangovers, stress, or just to feel good!

Minimum donation is £2 (or free if you bake, although you can still donate!) and you’ll get at least 10 minutes, and almost always more, but it depends on how busy it is at the time. (As a tip, turn up early when it’s less busy.) If you want an extra long massage let us know and we’ll work something out!

It’s all happening 2-8pm on Wednesday 16 November in the 3rd floor open lounge at the union. Join the facebook group and invite all your friends!

I walked past the city museum and art gallery every day for years before I finally went in and found out how nice it is – the inside of the building is beautiful! If you’re waiting for the right time, now’s your chance to check it out with some friendly chocaholics! It’s a great place, and the cafe at the back has some VERY nice treats. Once we’ve worked up an apetite looking at old things we’ll move up the road to the Patisserie Valerie on the triangle for a chat.

Meet 4pm at the cafe at the back on the ground floor and/or 5:05 pm at Patisserie Valerie on the triangle (opposite Sainsbury’s). Bring your NUS cards as Patisserie Valerie is 20% off for students (and the museum is free).

We’ll have our first ever chocolate shop crawl to explore some of Bristol’s finest establishments for all things chocolate! The route will be:

- Treasure island sweets and “a bar of” in St. Nick’s market
- Fizzy lips (broadmead)
- Shakeaway (broadmead arcade)
- Thornton’s (broadmead)
- Hotel Chocolat (cabot circus)
- Patisserie Valerie (cabot circus)
- Then on to the president’s place (next to cabot circus) for hot chocolate, tea, biscuits and whatever has survived from the shops!

They’re all in the city centre so if you haven’t been there yet you’ll get a tour around the main shopping district.

Meet at 2:00 at the corn street entrance to the St. Nicholas market which looks like this. If you’re late catch up with us at Treasure Island sweets inside the market. This is a real maze and google maps isn’t very precise but Treasure island sweets is much closer to St. Nicholas street than corn street.
